A new dining experience has opened its doors to Davao City’s premiere
mall.
Boasting its wide variety of dishes and being the biggest buffet
restaurant in the entire Philippines, Vikings’ opening was not only warmly
anticipated but was enthusiastically welcomed by Davaoenos. The first branch of
Vikings being opened outside Metro Manila catered to ten buffet stations
highlighting your favorite cuisines and an array of desserts and antipasti of
your choice. Name it and it’s probably there.
We were lucky that we were able to take a glimpse of the luxurious
buffet and experience eating like a Viking together with my fellow bloggers.
During our visit, I was also able to grab the chefs in some stations and ask
few questions about their preparation and the process they go through to come
up with meals that are being served in the buffet.
It may look simple and easy when you simply dine in the buffet but each
station is equipped with live kitchens where food is prepared right in front of
you. Stations like the grill, pasta and pizza, crepe and churrasco will allow
you to create your own dishes that add to the Vikings experience. Hot right to
your plate and fresh like morning dew, all food you can imagine to eat in a one
place you can consider heaven.
Canape. A small size of bread with savory topping |
Insalata Caprese. Fresh cherry tomato mozzerella basil and olive oil |
Deviled Eggs. |
Another Asian Pitstop: JAPANESE-KOREAN CUISINE
Miso Soup |
Chawan Mushi. An egg custard dish taken not as a dessert but a dish in a meal |
Teppan and stirfy. |
Moving to the main courses: CHURRASCO
This is where you can find your favorite steaks and other grilled meat that you can consume to heart's content! You can request for a grilled meat in your preferred style including sauces to pair depening on your taste. This section will never be complete without the carbs on the side like potato and corn.
At the side of this station is where you can find other European-style main dishes and four to five choisec of fried rice aside from the yang chow and binagoongan fried rice (that are found in the Chinese-Filipino station).
You can also find the seafood grill station adjacent to this cuisine. This station will ask you to choose your item then have them grilled by the chefs. You can wait or have your plates served to your respective table.
Next: ITALIAN PIZZA AND PASTA
This station will allow you to create your own pasta and/or calzone by choosing your own pasta, sauce, and condiments. The wonderful chefs of Vikings will bring to your table your requested dish after being prepared.
You can also enjoy your favorite American snacks like Fish Fillet, Corndogs and French Fries right beside the Italian section.
Next Pitstop: BEVERAGE
This is another favorite section for me. Complete from all types of juices (of all flavors) to milkshakes, softdrinks and even alcoholic beverage like beers and wines. They also serve hot tea and coffee. You can find the perfect match to every cuisine that you eat!
Lastly: BREAD AND DESSERT

I also made a short comparison to Yakimix in this review (click here)
Of course, the luxurious lunch or dinner comes with a certain price but
of course, Vikings would want you to enjoy the buffet and experience eating
like a Viking!
