Right in the heart of Puerto Princesa, Palawan is a place where you can
stay and enjoy a very convenient location for all your business or leisurely
trip. As its name would suggest, Hotel Centro is only a few minutes away from the
airport, restaurants, malls and some attraction within the town-proper.
My sisters and I arrived at the airport and were welcomed by the warm smiles of
the many drivers from different travel agency lining up outside the arrival
area to offer tours or transportation to arriving tourists. Light rain was
pouring from the skies that time although it was far from the rough plane ride
that we experience due to some heavy clouds within the perimeter of Palawan (a
tropical storm just passed by a couple of days then). Hotel Centro’s airport
representative welcomed us and gave a brief overview about Palawan and how to
go around the city (talk about being tourist-ready). You can easily feel that the
locals are prepared to welcome guests and help them during their stay even
though it may not directly benefit them.
We were endorsed to the front lobby and we were check-in in less than 15 minutes. Although the other room wasn’t ready yet as expected because we arrived earlier than check-in time, we were able to settle and change to dry clothing right away (after deplaning the aircraft, we walked under the rain but umbrellas were provided by the airport staff).
Luckily, internet was available in the hotel and we were able to search for our
next destination that day which is only one tricycle away (around 5-10 minutes
ride). I was also able to work in my online job during my stay in Hotel Centro
and enjoyed a warm bath just in time when our transportation going to El Nido
arrived. The staff of Hotel Centro was kind enough to pack our breakfast for us
because we were leaving so early in the morning and enjoyed the delicious beef
tapa and veggie side dish on our pit stop en route El Nido!
General impression:

- Airport pickup was more than early on time

Facade facing the national highway. The hotel facade lights during evening would change to colorful combinations every few seconds. |
Front lobby (c) www.philippinehotelreservations.com The rainy weather in the afternoon made me not risk taking a photo outside. |
Pool Side (c) www.orbitz.com Wasn't able to enjoy this too. It was a cold Tuesday afternoon when we arrived. It'll be crazy to dip in here. |
Deluxe room (c) www.philippinehotelreservations.com My apologies, I missed taking a photo with my camera that day. I was so excited to lay down the bed. |
Value added. Complimentary toiletries. |
I wanna come back and stay longer next time! How about you?
Special thanks to my friend Chamee Pecson for sharing the GC she won
during our Davao Bloggers event raffle, to Ms. Ria Jose and Hotel Centro’s management
and all the staff that accommodated us during our short stay in the hotel.
